The grand Salon
It’s an amazing hotel hall in the typical french tradition of the end of 19th century. The wall are made of original paintings and carved pieces of stone. Some huge pieces of mirror have been installed later and conveys light and depth to the Salon.
A historical place
1889 Birth of the hotel: This historical place is closely entangled with the famous 1889 Universal Exhibition. The landmark of this fair is still standing: the steelstructure “Gustave” Eiffel Tower. The Hilton Paris Opera and the Eiffel tower were opened the same year: at that time, tourist from Great Britain and Britanny come by train to Paris and found a good accommodation there.
During the world war II when Paris was occupied by the Nazis, the hotel was used by the Resistance. Some secret tunnels enables french soldiers take the train without being control by Nazi police.
Elegant accomodation: Executive room
The 5th floor executive room I have visited consists of a bedroom, a large living room, a bathroom all linked by a corridor. Though it is called an executive room, to my opinion it’s a small suite.
